Art & Antiques fair in Antibes

Without a doubt, the easiest way to get to Antibes is to arrive at the international airport only 17km away in the city of Nice. With numerous international and European flights landing here every day you should be able to find a convenient flight to suit your needs (have a look at our flight finder to find the right one for you). The regular 30-minute bus service that runs between the Nice Cote d'Azur airport and Antibes means that you will get to your end destination quickly. You might prefer the comfort and ease of an airport transfer or taxi of which there are plenty. Of course, there is always the option of a helicopter transfer... quicker (the flights takes around 5 minutes) and far more stylish!

If you were considering driving here then you should remember that parking in Antibes may prove challenging as much of the old town is filled with narrow cobbled lanes. Check with your accommodation in advance to see if parking is available.

Another quick and convenient way to get to Antibes is by train. The main station on Place Pierre Sémard is connected to the rest of France via the SNCF train network, with the TGV (France's high-speed rail service) running daily, direct from Paris.

There is no shortage of great accommodation in Antibes, and since this event takes place at the start of the summer season you are likely to have your pick of the cream of the crop.

Some of the luxury hotels may offer early-season discounts or special deals so it's worth looking around in case you can double up with a spa break. If you prefer to tie in some sightseeing with your trip to the Art Fair then the best boutique hotels are situated outside of the town of Antibes in the surrounding villages of Vence, Mougins and Biot. These villages are all charming in their own right and you will find them filled with galleries, sculptures and plenty of historic buildings to explore.

If you would rather save your pennies for the amazing pieces of art and antiques on offer then maybe a budget hotel or a charming B&B would better suit your needs. Staying in the Juan les Pins area will be more affordable and is luckily just as convenient for reaching the event venue. A good bus network links Juan les Pins with Antibes or, if you feel like stretching your legs, then a 30-minute walk will get you to the venue on Esplanade du Pré aux Pêcheurs.

Tickets for the Antibes Art Fair are available at the venue. There is no need to book or purchase tickets in advance. The cost is €10 per person and a reduced rate of €5 for those under 18 years old and students. Entry is free for people with reduced mobility and for their carer/accompanying person. Entry to the open spaces outdoors is free of charge. Guided tours of the exhibition are available. The price is included in your entry fee but places are limited so it's best to ask when you purchase your ticket about the availability of a tour for that day.

The Antibes art fair is open every day from 21st April to 8th May 2018 from 10:30 to 19:30 in the Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs, at the entrance of Vieil Antibes and in front of the Port Vauban marina. If you are taking public transport to the venue then you will need to alight outside of the old town and walk through the narrow cobbled streets towards the Port on Avenue de Verdun.

Bus
The number 14 bus is the only one that takes you directly to the venue and to the Porte Marine stop at the Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs. All other lines will pass either the Gare SNCF (train station) or the Diables Bleu stop where you can alight and walk the further 7-minutes to the venue.

Train
If coming from further afield you may be taking the train. There are regular SNCF trains from Cannes, Nice and Monaco. The main train station is located in Place Pierre Sémard, just a 5-minute walk to Avenue de Verdun and the venue at Esplanade du Pré des Pêcheurs.

Driving
There are several public car parks in the centre of Antibes and one at the Pré des Pêcheurs itself. You can reserve your parking online. Select Antibes as the city and then the City Center - Port car park.

Antibes has no shortage of good quality cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The old town, located right by the venue itself, has plenty of options for food so that you don't need to travel far to refuel during the event. However, if you fancy something a little more special then why not try one of Antibes's famed Michelin-starred restaurants, or perhaps make your way to the Le Saint-Martin restaurant at the Saint-Martin Spa & Chateau in the hills of Vence for a real treat.

By mid-April, spring will have well and truly sprung in the Riviera and Antibes is no exception. The Provencal and farmers markets of France are renowned for their eclectic mix of local produce, arts and crafts and wonderful bric-a-brac, and the markets of Antibes are no different. Port Vauban is the largest marina in Europe, securing Antibes' place amongst the top ports of call for some of the most expensive yachts in the world. A walk around the marina on a sunny day reveals a wealth of glittering boats and views that are hard to beat.
