Every two years, the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie brings together the very best young pastry talents in the world. After a selection process involving more than fifty national rounds, 22 teams qualified for the final.

At the event that took place on 23rd January 2017, the French Team composed of Etienne Leroy, Bastien Girard and Jean-Thomas Schneider won the Gold Medal to become Pastry Champions of the World. The theme of  2017 was rock'n'roll, giving teams an opportunity to make unique desserts live in front of the public and a jury of illustrious pastry chefs. The French team created an incredible (and edible) sugar and chocolate sculpture of a rock band.

"It is a great pride to be part of the family of world champions," Etienne Leroy told journalists after the event. He also part of a wonderful family here in Antibes where he creates masterpieces as one of the very talented the pastry chefs at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc.

Congratulations to Etienne and the French team...we'll be over for a cake and a cup of tea shortly!
