Ski Season Starts This Weekend in the South of France

The resorts of Isola 2000 & Auron will open on the 5th December

After the recent snow fall in the northern Alps creating a real buzz around the upcoming ski season, the southern Alps have been facing their fair share of difficult conditions in the run up to the 2015/16 season.

High winds and sunshine have played havoc with any snow that fell over the last few weeks, but despite this, both resorts have been able to use snow cannons to get some snow in place so that they can open this coming weekend. Both resorts will only see a partial opening, but for those of you who are keen to dust of your skis and warm up the legs with some turns before Christmas, then this is your chance!

Nothing says Christmas more than a few 'swooshes' on snow covered slopes and a lazy vin chaud in the restaurant. Personally I'll be unpacking my snowboard this Saturday and heading for the hills, followed by a lazy Christmas market stroll (and more vin chaud) on Sunday... Bliss!
