The sun was shining, the winds were light and the display of old and new yachts in the Cannes harbour was breathtaking.

The seventy-nine classic yachts enjoyed their pride of place as they drifted past La Croisette on their way from La Napoule to the Leyrins Isalnds. The light winds made for great viewing for those enjoying the spectacle from the shore but made the crew's life hard as they struggled to get any wind in their sails. With a light easterly wind ranging between 4 and 8 knots the victory was taken by the Mariska. The overall victory however, went to Moonbeam IV who seized the gold medal in the Big boats division at this years Regates Royales-Tropee Panerai.

Last weeks event was one for all the family and the perfect way to start off the Autumn season, which looks like it will be a wonderful 'Indian Summer'!
