For over two years the 140kg boar has been a local 'pest'

The boar was finally caught and killed during an official municipal hunt organised with the communal hunting society of Bar-sur-Loup.

The wild boar had been causing major damage to property in the Grasse area, ransacking gardens around Bar-sur-Loup, Chateauneuf and Le Rouret, and had killed several dogs which had come across its path. For more than two years residents filed repeated complaints, however the animal seemed determined to continue living in this urban area.

Weighing an incredible 140kg, hunters say it’s one of the largest wild boars ever to have been shot in the region.
