July means live music in Antibes and Juan les Pins

The French Riviera has warmed up nicely and the visitors are flocking to the beaches around Antibes as the summer season reaches its peak. However, you'll find there’s much more to do than relaxing on a sun lounger all day here, as the events calendar is jam-packed in July.

Here's a sneak peek at some of the events we're particularly looking forward to throughout July in Antibes.

What's the weather like in Antibes in July?

July is the hottest, driest month in Antibes and is the height of the season. Average temperatures generally sit between a low of 18ºC in the evenings and a high of 27ºC during the day. There is very little chance of rain and the sun shines for roughly 15 hours a day, with sunrise around 06:00 and sunset after 21:00. Sea temperatures have warmed up to an average of 22ºC. Notre Dame de Bon Port Fête
The rich traditions of this seaport town mean that they enjoy four days of celebration during the Fête de Notre Dame de Bon Port festival. Honouring the Virgin Mary, this event is organised by the mariners of Antibes to thank her for her protection whilst at sea. Expect lots of processions through the town.

Nuits du Sud Festival
The Nuits du Sud Festival, in the town of Vence, brings together artists from all around the world in what has now become a major event in the Riviera calendar. Taking place throughout July until August, you really need to study the programme to ensure that you don't miss out on some of the best music of the summer.

Bastille Day
Bastille Day is celebrated across the whole of France with a bang. Well, several bangs in fact, as fireworks always feature heavily. The Bay of Antibes and Juan les Pins will put on a spectacular fireworks show with lights and sound on the evening of the 13th and the 14th. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend.

Pottery market
Antibes is well known for its pottery and artists studios line the old walls of the town. For the weekend in July there will be stalls where you can buy, enjoy and learn more about the art and craft of pottery. The Pottery Market is an annual event that brings together around 35 professional potters and ceramicists to the heart of Antibes, giving you the chance to pick up some special hand-made items to take home to family and friends, or maybe just for yourself.
