A short walk from both Antibes and Juan-les-Pins is the Cap d'Antibes. This gorgeous headland is gently undulating and is filled with smart and very private villas. The Cap is best known for the uber-luxurious (and expensive) Hotel du Cap Eden Roc.
This area has many celebrity visitors, especially around the time of the Cannes Film Festival, soaking up fantastic views that can be had from the hills and the rocky coastline that is filled with private coves
Small harbours are home to colourful boats, the waters are crystal clear and pine trees gracefully line the coast. You can follow a coastal path around the peninsula, it will take you an hour or two.
There are a couple of gardens you can visit on the Cap. The first is the Villa Eilenroc, a Belle Époque manor house with lovely gardens, most notably the rose garden. The second is Jardin Thuret, a 12-acre plot full of subtropical and Mediterranean plants, open throughout the year.
If you follow the coastal path, you will come across la Batterie du Graillon on the southern tip. This is an old fort which has been turned into a maritime museum. Further round on the west coast is a lovely lighthouse overlooking Antibes.

More rocky coves than silky sand beaches, the Cap has a different feel altogether from Juan les Pins and Antibes itself. Follow the coastal path and find a little rocky cove all to yourself. However, on the east side of the peninsula, you will find Plage de la Garoupe, a charming sandy beach with private beach clubs and good restaurants.
